The Roland MDX-40A is a high-speed high-efficiency modeling machine with optional Rotary Axis Unit and 3D Touch Probe Scanner.  It puts you in control with the power of milling right on your desktop.

The MDX-40A is an exciting evolution of the Roland MDX-40. It can use industry standard G-Code programs and includes several upgrades to firmware and software.

The completely new design of the Rotary 4th Axis Unit includes a much larger work area of 10.6” long x 4.7” in diameter that’s three times the work area of the previous model, It also has a spring loaded tool sensor for reliable operation.

Support for G-Code programming gives the MDX-40A compatibility with popular software programs including GibbsCAM, Mastercam, EdgeCAM and more.

The all new ClickMill software enables direct control of the MDX-40A.  Quickly create pockets, drill holes, cut slots, chamfer edges, surface workpieces and other finishing processes, all without needing to access CAD or CAM software.

All current MDX-40 accessories can be used on the MDX-40A

The optional Active 3D Piezo touch probe scanner adds the power of reverse engineering.

The MDX-40A milling spindle unit is a full-featured CNC (computer numerical control) mill capable of cutting jeweler's wax, resins, chemical wood, acrylic, wood and light medals like brass and aluminum.

Roland’s Subtractive Rapid Prototyping mills your prototypes the same way you will machine your products. The MDX-40A will save you time and money by testing and modifying your virtual 3D designs.

The scanning attachment is identical to the Roland MDX-15/20 scanning attachment and is capable of scanning in the X, Y and Z axis. It does not support scanning with the rotary 4th axis.
